I have come across several Mormon Missionary records during my work. It would be helpful and time saving to create an additional field where "Elder" or "Sister" could be autonomically added to the name record. It would also be helpful in the "Suffix" field to add "Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints."

There are millions of Peter Madsen's out there, it would be nice to locate "the one" with ease and I'm sure many will grab at the record but clarity on the naming fields may solve hours of work on the user end.

Thank you for all you do!

I think you could utilize the Life Sketch section for this. Or add it as a note or a source (if the person is listed in the missionary database). Missionary service is a very tiny fraction of a person's life. They were not known their entire life as "Elder XXX missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints".

The FamilySearch Family Tree is a world wide shared tree. Many users are not members of the Church.

The Title and Suffix as well as the first and last name fields of the vital name section are for the legal name of the person.

The whole point is to avoid the pile on of people to obvious missionaries of any faith. This is applicable to all faiths and would actually solve many duplicate issues as well as tell, a very valuable part of Mormonism... the part where they colonized every possible nation through missionary work. If this record system is for ALL people then it must also tell that story, correctly.

Just trying to help sort the mess that is happening largely because "while this may be for ALL people." the Genesis of the data is biased towards mormonism, as well as white settlers. There are major improvements that could be easily made to the system to autonomically ensure that a field tag of missionary or mormon would exclude all other potential initial search functions. The AI is learning, the more we can help it learn the better we are all going to be in the end.

I'm here to see repair work to more than just my line. And, all due respect it is a major part of ones life, and in the early days could make for confusing tracing of deaths in the field.

Titles and Suffix's are exactly that, and when you are a missionary, you do have a legal title as such.

Peace and here's to closing the gap on the sea of information!
