list of repeated Ancestors

As I am doing my research, I am finding that I descend from multiple children of the same ancestor. It would be interesting to be able to see a list of those people. It would help to avoid double entries and be a fun list to show how sides are related.

I found that my sister married our first cousin ever so distant back in 1630's. Fun stuff to know.

Many people eventually encounter "pedigree collapse"- when the number of unique ancestors in each generation no longer follows the exponential 2,4,8,16,32,64 ... pattern. For me personally, I appear to have 256 unique 6xgreat-grandparents, but less than 512 in the next generation.

What you suggest should be reasonably straightforward for FS to achieve, but the question is whether this is a high-enough priority and if FS has the resources to do it.

So are you surprised to discover that you are your own cousin?

Reoccurring personThe person appears in more than one place in the pedigree, but not in loop.

Family Tree has a list of possible data problems.

A Reoccurring Person data problem can be dismissed for those instances where you are related to a person in more than one way, for example when cousins marry.
