I cannot read any of the topics in this Ideas Forum meaning I cannot open the topics.

When I click on a topic, at the top of the webpage, where the URL would usually be, it briefly says "Pop-up Window Blocked", the wording community.familysearch.org is then visible. (using Safari , iMac)

There should be an accmpanying option presented to - Allow Familysearch Pop-Ups - which needs to authorised.

This demonstrates why FamilySearch's constant messing with well-established interface options is a Bad Idea.

FamilySearch, please make topic titles into regular, old-fashioned LINKS. You know, those things that users can choose to open in place, in a new tab, or in a new window, easily, using long-established commands that work in all browsers? Remember those? We all do, fondly. Please go back to them.

    MaureenE123,

While you are on a page in the communities area, go to Safari->Preferences and then the Websites tab. Select the Pop-up Windows type and change the setting on the "community.familysearch.org" from "Block and Notify" to "Allow".

But Julia is 100% correct. FamilySearch has not used a normal Browser interface here and it creates sides effects and disables useful features that can be used in nearly all other websites. The use of pop-up windows is typically blocked by default by Safari in order to avoid Spam type scripts. So when you make the change for community.familysearch.org, leave the "Block and Notify" setting on the "When visiting other websites" field.

Poor MaureenE123, she probably can't even read my last message which was a solution for her!

Many thanks to JeffWiseman for kindly sending me a FamilySearch Community Support email, telling me how to make the necessary changes in my computer settings, so that I can again access the topics in this Ideas Forum.

As a user of this Ideas Forum, I am utterly bewildered as to why FamilySearch suddenly made changes which meant I could no longer access topics as I had been previously doing, and which meant I had TO CHANGE SETTINGS ON MY COMPUTER.

Presumably these changes would affect more than just me. How is anyone supposed to know what to do if they are similarly affected? I certainly had no idea how to fix this problem until advised.
