When creating tree if there is a deceased parent and the living parent gets married again there should be a space either below or to the side of the deceased parent showing the step parent on the visual tree. If this already doable, please tell me how. I see you can add additional spouse but then you have to choose between showing the deceased parent or the step parent. You should be able to show both!

@Pamela965 Just add all the additional spouses needed. You set one of them preferred so that when in pedigree view you can control whose lineages will show. You can switch back and forth if you are researching lineages for both spouse #1 and #2. And on the person page of the spouse who was married multiple times, both spouses will show. Any children born to each spouse can be seen belonging to the appropriate set of parents, as long as the relationship is set to birth. If a child is also given a step relationship with a step parent, then the child will be listed twice. Hope all that makes sense.
I have been very satisfied with how FamilySearch accomodates various parental and spousal situations I have found my ancestors to be tangled up in.

Gail Swihart Watson I think you should be given the option to show all and not have to choose. Feelings can get hurt by the parties not seen plus if you attach the specific children to each birth parent then the whole picture is incomplete especially if you personally don’t view siblings or parents as step or adopted.

@Pamela965 Feelings are not a part of this. It's a setting you change as often as you need to. I work on the lineage of an adopted relative of mine. Birth mom and birth dad married other people, not each other, so I have 3 sets of parents for this relative: adopted parents, birth dad and spouse, birth mom and spouse. I switch the preferred status to match which line I am researching. When I take screen shots to send to the family of my adopted relative, I switch the preferred to get screen shots of both birth lineages in the pedigree view. It's the pedigree view that drives the "preferred" setting, as well as what shows up in the About section, and maybe the show relationship function, but I'm not sure about that.
Now on the person page, all parents who have a relationship show up. All spouses will be there when you click the person who had multiple marriages. On the child pages the possible relationships are foster, guardianship, adoption, biological and step. There are sources which show my father-in-law spent time as a child in the houses of different people. Because I have documented this by adding the relationship guardianship, it is easily seen on his page.

@Pamela965, another part of the equation that I think you're missing is that "preferred" is a per-user setting: what you've set it to does not affect what other users see.
