I notice that when a picture is put on a person's page that it automatically gets tagged - but the red ! remains there after you have gone in and tagged the specific people in the picture. I - for now - once I tag the people specifically - remove the tag of the "whole picture". Is there any way to make it so that it automatically disappears when you tag a "face" or something like that?

When you upload the photo to the person page, the system automatically tags the photo. But it does not know exactly where the tag should be so it covers the whole photo and gives you the !. It you go to the tag that is created when you uploaded it on the right, click on the down arrow, then click on "Edit Tag", you will see the tag which is a rectangle covering the whole photo has a green circle in the lower right corner. Grab the green circle and move the tag to where you want it. That will make the ! go away.
