The Ability to Scan Through the Various Topics Here is Great!

I was worried about not being able to easily scan by topic on the new "Ideas" forum. For me personally, it's not quite as good as the more compact formate on the old GetSatisfaction.com site, but it is FAR superior to the way it works in the other FS Community groups. I hope that eventually we can have reply type info provided (again similar to GetSat), but for now, this is a great start. Thanks for invoking this feature.

    Jeff

Possibly being a bit lazy here, but it's not immediately obvious to me how I do this. Another post comments on how difficult it is to find a post that originated some time ago (as on the rest of the Community forum), so can you give me an example on how I can more easily find old posts here (whether recent comments have been added or not)? Thanks.

My praise was dealing specifically with the fact that the list of topics that we are given here is ONLY Topic Titles (like it was in GetSatisfaction.com). The FamilySearch Community groups all include initial responses and answers to the Topic as well, thus spreading a topic out over so many lines you can only see 3 or 4 topics on a large desktop screen. So scanning/scrolling through all the topics is MUCH easier than is done in the FS community groups. This was a major concern I had about things being moved to the FS Communities environment, and to a large extent it has been mitigated.

Now the current sorting and navigation from the topics list to their comments and back is a "clicking" nightmare. The ability to search and find postings and comments is also an issue. But these are different issues than what this praise was about.

Regarding your question on finding older postings, I suspect the generic "Search" box is the only tool available and I've not tried it out much yet.
