Replace any person record's fields with source data when linking source to record

What I would like to see is the option to change field information on the person's details page when using the source linker. That would allow the person linking the source to evaluate the information. I'm not in favor of automatically updating the record.0 -
Joshua Lyman said: Good call Tom. To clarify, I was working with death certificates with associated images. Also, I wouldn't be in favor of automatically updating either, but I like the user interaction where a box is on the right and there is the "Replace" link that copies over the new data on top. That way it is user directed, but easier to do than doing so manually.0

Tom Huber said: I don't have a problem with that. Ancestry.com does something simlar. If you like the new information, you can check the box, or if you have a conclusion that is different than either the new document and the information in the person's record, you can update the record manually.
Checkbox to apply the new conclusion.
Field to manually change the conclusion (with a seaparate reason statement required).0 -
Joshua Lyman said: That'd work. Would save a few extra steps, and yes to requiring a separate reason statement.0
