How can we help those hard working indexers fix errors and omissions?

Having a difficult maiden name to pronounce, I have come upon SO MANY errors from census takers, town clerks, etc in the writing of my surname! I only found and verified I had the correct record through hours of sleuthing. It would be nice to be able to let others be able to benefit from my work by noting somehow the correct surname. I usually check an entire page in a census to see if relatives are listed on the same page and through this process have come upon names that were improperly indexed and / or entirely omitted.
Example: While researching Berkey, I came upon her brother who happened to be on same census page; but Stroud had been indexed as 'Strand." On that same page, found two Irish/Scotish names entirely omitted!
I always think, "Maybe someone is looking for this person. They will never be found!"

One of the best ways I've found to make sure the records that can't yet be edited can be found again is to attach them to the correct person in the tree. You can also note the issue in the record on the tree person.0
