Stella Josephine English was only married once. Her spouse was my grandfather: John Stephan English.

If this is on the FSFT, you can correct this. The FSFT can be edited by anyone with a FamilySearch account. Make sure to include sources to back up all facts you enter.

If this is in a historical record, such as a census, vital record, obituary, then what the original record says must stand even if it is wrong. But if FS has mistranscribed a name in the record, you can click on "edit" when viewing the record, and make a correction.

Two options are open for you if you are unsure how to proceed:

    1) Contact someone who is actively involved in working with FamilySearch— they may be associated with a local Family History Center or a local genealogical or historical society.

    2) Use The Family History Guide, an approved training resource, to take the actions needed, yourself. From Brett’s reply, it appears you need some help, which is okay and why I suggested the first option. See https://www.thefhguide.com/ for the guide.

Charlene Myers said: Ugh, this is way above my pay grade if you know what i mean. I don't know who Oliver 1 is and I tried to change and eliminate to no avail. My father hated the name "Chuck", I would really like to preserve his memory positively. I think there had been some merges along the way for this information to be so scrambled up. I really need someone wh is fluent with this system to help me, please. There is only one Charles F. English whose mother is Stella Josephine Blundy English.

about Stella having two husbands appeared on Richard J. English/ Susan Crudden English tree that listed their children. One being John Stephan English who is Stella's one and only husband. Someone else entered this and I can not correct it. I need help with this also please.

As long as I am alive I would like to correct the record.

If you would like, I can certainly address/fix the situation regarding the, "Merging"/"Combining" and the "Relationships", for you; and, then, let you make the "Changes" that you consider are appropriate.

    Just give me the 'nod'.

I am sorry of the delay.

    Done.

I have just done some basic "Merging"/"Combining".

You can do/make whatever "Changes" that you consider necessary.

    As for the Children:
    (1) Charles Francis "Chuck" ENGLISH
I would suggest that you "Change" the Name in "Vitals" simply by Deleting "Chuck".
I have added "Chuck" as an "Also Known As" Name in "Other Information".
    (2) Mr. ENGLISH
I would suggest that you "Change" the Name in "Vitals" simply by Deleting "Mr." from the 'First Names'; and, by NOT including a 'Title' of "Mr." and by NOT including a 'pseudo' Name of "Baby" as, either, a 'Title'; or, a 'First Name(s)' - just leave the 'First Name' as "Blank" (which indicates a "Unnamed" Infant).

    I hope this helps.

    Enjoy.

This is pretty trivial, but would it not be a tad bit better to label the alternate name of Chuck English to "Nickname" instead of "Also Known As"?

It would kind of emphasize the fact that it was not actually a legally assigned name--especially since he apparently disliked it :-)

Having the alternate name is a good idea since if that name shows up on any historic records a search can find it more easily.

    Not may 'call' ...

As I have NO knowledge (whatsoever) of, the individual/person; or, their Family, I will leave that up to 'Charlene' ...

    That is her 'call' ...

    And, I was only addressing/fixing the "Merging"/"Combining" ...

I only added, "Chuck", as as "Alternate Name", as an EXAMPLE, for "Charlene" ...

    By the by ...

Not that I am an 'American'; but, as far as I was aware,'Chuck', can actually be, a (Registered) "Name"; or, an "Also Known As"; or, a "Nickname" ...

I chose, what I considered, as the 'safest' alternative; so as, not to 'step on too many toes' ...

As I have obviously 'stepped on too many toes' of late; and, 'ruffled a few feathers' ...

There is a LOT that I would have 'Addressed' with the 'Family'.

In the Church, if I was a "Ward/Branch, Temple and Family History, Consultant", in a Ward/Branch, of which 'Charlene' was a member' and, I had the time with her, I would have been 'Teaching' and 'Helping' her; but, as I am doing it quite, 'remotely' and 'quickly', through this Forum, I was just try to apply the KISS principle ...

Rather than my usual 'verbosity' ...

And, I understand the premise behind you "Comment".
