Jeff Felix said: When a possible merge, or an actual merge is in process, it is helpful to click on a link, say to a child to get more information. This works fine, except that once looked at it has to be explicitly removed by clicking elsewhere on the page before you can continue on with the main merge process (by say, clicking on "yes, continue", or. "continue" buttons. This gets real old after a while. If you don't dismiss the info popup dialog the system ignores any thing else you might do until you do. It woudl be nice if it would go away if you did anything else on the page, but in particular clicking on the continue buttons.

Paul said: I'm not sure if I am understanding your point, Jeff. What makes the pop-up appear? Is it clicking on the name of another individual (say child or spouse) that appears on the page. If so, I would just stop the unwanted pop-up appearing by right-clicking on that person, so their record opens in a new tab/window.

If I'm missing the point - even the pop-up hasn't bothered me to date - please provide a screenshot or explain in a little more detail.

Tom Huber said: As an alternative to clicking on a (for instance) child's name to see the details, I like to spend time looking at each of the two records in their own tab/window.

That way, I see everything and while the merge display is much better than it used to be, it is still lacking in some areas, which is why I like to examine each record in its own area, especially where I can look at the change log to see the creation/import date along with what the original record contains, including any previous merges with other records.

Jeff Felix said: No, it's not an unwanted popup. I single-click on, e.g., a child of a parent I'm in the process of merging, to verify, for example, that the child was born in the same place and time frame as the rest of the children for that marriage. What happened before was that the popup would disappear when you released the mouse. Now it stays up until you click somewhere else on the page, and while it's up you can't go forward with the merge. Not a big-deal - but it's an extra click that's not really needed.
