Linda Kaye Carter said: It would be nice if we could volunteer to be the "Patron" and do the ordinance work for a person who has been shared with the temple by Family Search. This particular ordinance was shared in 2009. I would like to be able to do this work and finish the family sealings.

JT said: Use the 1-year-old "Ordinances Ready" feature to see if you get lucky enough for it to assign you the person for whom you are desiring to do such-and-such ordinance type for. But if you've already got enough reservations on your temple queue for one trip to the temple, then it won't give you any more to do, until you complete the ones you already have on your queue.

Tom Huber said: There are several approaches that can be used.

Jon (above) has provided one of them.
You can use the internal message system of FamilySearch to send a message to the person who shared the names with the temple and ask that they share the name(s) with you.
You can contact support (this is a community discussion forum) and ask that they release the name and assign it to you so you can perform the vicarious ordinances.
Or you can wait until a new feature is released that will allow you to pull the temple-shared names yourself (this has been announced).

Keep in mind that you need to be related to the person, which can be checked on the person's page with "View My Relationship".
