Firstly, "Welcome" to this "FamilySearch" ( "GetStaisfaction" ) 'Feedback' Forum.

Secondly, "Official 'FamilySearch' Representatives", do monitor; and, sometimes, participate in, this Forum.

Thirdly, I am just another User/Patron, just like yourself (and, happen to be a Member of the Church).

Many Users/Patrons who regularly participate in this Forum who have a great deal of knowledge and experience with "FamilySearch", like to assist/help other Users/Patrons like yourself.

Finally, is this what you see:

If so, you need to select the "Three Lines":

    You then get this:

    AND, at some stage ...

You will need to change your 'Screen' and/or 'Browser' settings.

I don’t know what is going on, but this approach of hiding the sign in option runs counter to almost every other site I use on the internet.

Just thought you'd like to know :-)

Tom Huber said: I just checked and using Chrome on a Windows 10 computer, it appears that the opening page (for those not signed in) has been replaced with the previous version which does have the option.

Kudos to the FS folks for acting on this issue.

Jeff Wiseman said: When a person is sitting on the landing page, they are almost ALWAYS in the process of logging in. Creating a new account or doing a quick search through historic records is a much less frequent use of the landing page.

After all, a person will use it ONCE when creating a new account, but it will never get used again by them to do the same thing. Instead they will be logging in over and over again.

The most significant use of the landing page has been totally obfuscated. Please keep all priorities balanced.
