Most of them is often trying to find living descendants of a common ancestor - maybe before a visit to the old or the new country of their ancestors.
To help these people (myself included) I would love to get help from FamilySearch.
Would it be an idea make an option to contact living descendants of a common ancestor - something like this:

Being on the 'Details' page of an ancestor there should be a option under 'Tools' saying 'Contact living descendants' - hereby I can send out a message inside FS to all descendant users - but only if they have accepted to receive these email (I do not wish to send out spam emails). This is done with a check-mark in a field in my setting - 'Descendants contact' = Yes, please.

I know that by checking 'Relationships' in 'Settings' I'm able to se my relationship to other users if they have done the same. But I can only do this to users I can find (if the have added information to a person in 'FamilyTree' - not for the ones that are not visble og known to me. This new option will give me access to these unknown users - if they want to be contacted.

With this new option users will be able to get in touch with living descendants easily - wouldn't that be wonderful?

Another idea is to create a Discussion asking for living descendants to contact you.

I have created a Facebook group for an ancestor that I'm planning a reunion for and I've posted a Discussion in Family Tree on that ancestor's page letting other users know about a future reunion and about the Facebook page.

You can also do descendancy research on the common ancestor and identify living descendants - then look them up in online directories and reach out to them.
