I have attached over 21 thousand sources and created over 3 thousand people. Therefore I would like MORE PRECISE FILTERING.
For example, when I do a filter on letters "ERR" it gives me anyone with these letters anywhere in the last name or the first name, so any "Perry" and any "Jerry", etc.
Can you please make it more precise, just like in the Family Tree Find search. I would like the "Match Exactly" check box.
That way when I search on "LUK*" I would NOT get names like "Klukoss" or first name "Luke" but only names which start with LUK.

I'm not sure what is what because when I entered Anth, it looks like the thing filters on both the visible and the invisible elements.
No wildcards are supported, so Anth* killed any response -- I was hoping to see all "Anthony" entries, but instead of treating the asterisk as a wildcard, it treated it as if it were a text character.
And the results, as I said, included the invisible elements (that is, parents names) which are those names that are not displayed.
Definitely not ready for prime time.0 -
Jaromir Lukac said: Exactly, I use the multi-character wildcard * and the single character wildcard ? in my searches in the Family Tree and the Records section to great advantage. That is the convention is any database.
Right now the new My Contributions section uses the characters "contained" search in both first and last names combined.
They should have just used the Family Tree search, and added a "my contributions" checkmark as an added filter.0
