We all share an active interest in using the resources of this site and as users, we have various levels of knowledge and experience and do our best to help each other with concerns, issues, and/or questions.

If your father is living, and you know his name, then you may want to try one of the living person's search sites. A good one is Zaba Search (https://www.zabasearch.com/), which I use when checking whether a person is still alive or not. I previously used the White Pages (https://www.whitepages.com/) but they want to sell you their services now, rather than provide even basic information...

And when you get your results back, see who matches closely. There's a chart to help you correlate relations with the shared centiMorgan number you get back. (these are ranges, so you have to augment your results with typical genealogy research, but for father/daughter relationships, the numbers are fairly conclusive)

What this can help you do is possibly locate half siblings (or cousins) that may be closely related and possibly have more information on your father.

Use the Shared centiMorgan tool at https://dnapainter.com/tools/sharedcmv4

    Good luck!
