First, there is no "my" or "your" tree. It is all one massive tree with over 1.2 Billion names in it.
There are some bogus lines that extend back to Adam, but those are fabricated more than anything else. Some lines have not been proven that go back to American colonial days (I have several of those). Some are based upon a family tradition (I have one of those).
To research by an occupation, that information would need to be entered into the person's record and the "Find" search feature would need to be able to search with an added parameter of Occupation in the Vitals section. Right now, only the family relationships and information in the vitals section are used.
Since you cannot isolate your branches of the tree, you will need to use a local family tree management program that can download your ancestral lines and their descendants into a local database. There are three fully certified programs that appear in the Solutions Gallery (the link is at the bottom of this and most FamilySearch.org pages): Ancestral Quest, Legacy, and Roots Magic. What you want to do may not be possible with the free versions, but the bigger problem is the inconsistent way that users have entered information in the "Other" section of the profiles.0
