Juli said: Once again: the exact same contract applies to all of the Slovakian films you're talking about. The problem has absolutely nothing to do with religion or specific location. A film containing Slovakian records is restricted if there's anything on it newer than 100 years. Period, end of story.0

A van Helsdingen said: As for contact details, see my post of about 12 hours ago.
If you have contacted the archive then send a copy of their email or letter when you contact the FS Support Staff. You can add "attachments" at the bottom of your message.
Members of the public cannot contact the FS head office directly. But if the archive uses the contact form I linked to, they will be able to speak to a representative of FS and discuss the restrictions.0 -
A van Helsdingen said: Also: just because the archive has not placed restrictions on microfilms before 1900 does not mean that the owner (i.e. the Catholic and Protestant churches) have not placed restrictions on the records. Archives do not always own the records they store.
I'm currently dealing with getting some records of the New Zealand government that were filmed by FS in the 1960s unrestricted. The archives says they don't own them and can't do anything (even though they hold the records), but the government department says they need the archives to also agree to the restrictions. The case is complicated by the records having been transferred to the archives since the 1960s and the restructuring of government departments. Therefore a three way contract between the archives, the government department and FS will need to be signed. This could some time, even though the archives have a good relationship with FS and the department is willing to have the records unrestricted.0 -

A van Helsdingen said: I have told you all there is to know about who to contact to try and solve the problem. You'll need to contact FS using the information I gave you to try and resolve it. All of us here are ordinary users of FS, not staff. We cannot do anything to solve it.
Sometimes FS Staff do respond on this forum. They always clearly identify themselves as Staff. I hope for you that one will respond and look into the errors with restrictions that you have identified.0
