We all share an active interest in using the resources of this site and as users, we have various levels of knowledge and experience and do our best to help each other with concerns, issues, and/or questions.

The short answer to your question is: I don't know, but I do not believe that there is going to be the option to select the gender. It is geared toward the gender of the user with the understanding that that user will be doing the ordinances.

This is a feature that is part of the rewrite of the entire temple reservation and ordinance section of FamilySearch, under the direction of the Temple Department. If you want to obtain names for persons of a different sex, then use the normal reservation system to place those persons into your temple list.

If the person you want has been reserved by another person, you can send them a message asking that they share the person with you. You'll need to provide your email address as well as your relationship. They can then transfer the person(s) to you and once you accept them, they will appear in your Temple list.

If the ordinances for the person(s) have been shared with the temple, then the following article will be helpful: https://www.familysearch.org/help/sal...

I agree with Joan Carole Forester. The Ordinances Ready function saves a lot of searching to find the specific types of ordinances that I want to print for today's temple trip - my wife and I are going together to do sealings, so we want people of both sexes.

I have added a lot of names to my tree and I know that there are hundreds or maybe thousands of Female names that are ready to be sealed to parents. But, when I log in, Ordinances Ready only finds Male names that need to be sealed to parents.

My wife is connected to my tree. She has pioneer ancestry and a lot of the temple work has been done in her line. So when she logs in, Ordinances Ready finds Female sealings for 9th or 12th cousins from her side of the tree, but none from my side of the tree.

It's a tedious process to find Females that need sealing to parents but have already had all of the other ordinances finished so that they can be requested. (In the past I have tried to take names for Sealing to Parents that don't have all the other ordinances finished and the sealer wouldn't do them.)

Please, please, please add a gender selection to Ordinances Ready, Sealing to Parents.
