Issue: Now that the color indicator for a name shares with the temple is gone, how does one tell if the name has been shared?

Details: I miss the color markings that indicate a person is or is not shared. Under the new system, how do I determined whether the person is shared or not shared? I see that there is a shared choice on the far left which indicates the items that are shared (for me 2,469 names). Under the other choice, ''my reservations'' it says that I have 184. How do I tell who of the 184 have shared with the temple? I would have guessed that none of have been shared (because if they were, the names would have been listed under the shared'' area. But that is not the case. Some of the names under ''my reservations'' have been shared and some not. I have to click a few times for each person to dig down and see who was shared, or not.

So, how does one know just from a glance who has been shared?? Please let me know the trick. Without the orange/red color that is no longer available, I cannot not determine who is shared. You could put it in the filter area as a choice but it is not there either. Perhaps under ''Date'' it could be listed as shared, but that is not done either. Thank you.

Tom Huber said: Where the ordinances appear on your temple page (either Shared or My Reservations) apply only to the reservations that you make as Ali said.

Ordinances that another user made and shared can be reserved for 90 days (once the temples reopen for vicarious ordinances the 90 day limit starts), but cannot be shared by you on your temple page.

Right now, the system will only allow you to reserve all available ordinances, whether they have been shared by another user, or if you are reserving a previously unreserved ordinance.

FamilySearch has told us they are working on a solution that will allow the user to reserve only the ordinances they have specified, and not reserve all of them.

SS is a couple sealing and reserved separately from the individual ordinances. They always appear on their own line in the temple list.

This has been hashed and rehashed over and over.

Consider how a non-member (who cannot see the temple icons) does their descendancy research.

    Now consider Jim Greene's advice:
We are no longer in a position where names submitted to the temple is more important than to have the ordinances performed. Therefore, while not changing the meaning we are changing the emphasis of the green temple. We need to think of it as "This ordinance is available for temple work to be performed." It does not mean "This ordinance is ready to be requested/reserved or submitted/shared with the temple." (This clarified statement was made by Jim Greene on June 17th.)
For a more complete explanation about who made the decision and why, see Jim Greene's two major posts which are in the https://getsatisfaction.com/familysea... discussion from June 12th, 2020, and the https://getsatisfaction.com/familysea... discussion from the weekend of June 13th-14th, 2020. The modified statement about the emphasis being changed appeared in the https://getsatisfaction.com/familysea... discussion on June 17th.

    Ali Jessee said: Hi Marc,

The Shared tab shows all the names you have shared with the temple. The My Reservations tab shows all reservations that you have not shared with the temple, including names shared with family & friends. There is an Ordinance column that will show the ordinance color with text next to it defining the specific state of that ordinance.

Or at least that's how it all should be working, so if you're seeing names shared with the temple on your My Reservations tab, it could be a bug. If you wouldn't mind sharing screenshots and/or PID's of the people who are affected, I can dig a little more!

    Thanks,
    Ali

I found some names. It sounds like if any ordinances are not shared for any person they go into the My Reservations group, and only if ALL ordinance are shared they go into the Shared Group.

But in keeping with the pattern in the My Reservation Group, under the Ordinances column it should list “SS Shared not Printed” or something to that effect perhaps if one of the ordinances are shared. It does not do this for Jacques below, but it does for Louis. So it seems there is something confusing about the system that is now in place

Pierre Poussard G312-ZJF – SS shared with temple
Jacques Poussard L6QJ-QZD - SS shared with temple
Louis Marineau L6QS-HGF – Several ordinance shared with Temple
Jacquette Clairvelot G31X-7ZC - SS shared with temple
