JT said: Still two years. But each time a prior ordinance is performed in that set of reservations for that deceased person, the deadline for remaining ordinances is extended another year (give-or-take; hard for me to predict or quantify).

Tom Huber said: Christina is correct, at least as I understand what I have read -- According to the article cited by Jessie, every time ordinances are performed, the expiration date is extended by one year for the remaining ordinances.
Expiration dates get extended automatically by 1 year when 1 or more of the reserved ordinances is completed within the original 2-year reservation. The ordinance of sealing-to-spouse is a separate reservation, however, and is not connected to any of the other reservations you may hold for a particular ancestor.
Furthermore, during the pandemic, the temples are not open to do vicarious ordinances and therefore, the expiration dates are being automatically extended.

Once the temples reopen for vicarious ordinances, the pandemic-related extensions will no longer take place.

So we are going to be facing some strange expiration dates, even after the temples reopen.
