Valerie King said: Please change the silhouettes back to the original format. These are awful in appearance. The colors are too bright and the style of the human figure is too ethnic. These new silhouettes totally overpower my ancestor's pictures in the pedigree charts as those pictures are in gray tones. I hope the engineer's truly do get this feedback!

Valerie King said: This is a gradual transition. They are found throughout the mobile apps, and also in latest changes & merge in FS Web. I'm sure they will be changing the rest of the icons on the Web if they get positive feedback, or maybe even without it.0

Ahem - wouldn't that rather depend on your point of view?0 -
Don M Thomas said: I agree, the old was better. The older gray icons are better. The new icons take away from the photographs. I agree the new icons look too ethnic.0

Gordon Collett said: I must be missing something. They just look like very generic, non-specific people to me. Maybe a bit of an old fashioned hairstyle on the woman but that fits with the history part of what we are doing. I do like it better than the 1960's hairstyle on the old icon. The new one reminds of the silhouettes on the boxes PAF came in.0

What exactly is that supposed to mean? Ethnic as an adjective should not be used in that way; it's vague and meaningless as a usage. What ethnic group specifically do they resemble and why might that be a bad thing?0 -

Valerie King said: I'm sorry you chose to take offense over the word's use as an antonym to "generic." They are NOT generic enough to represent all of the world's peoples, which is how everything should be now--We are all supposed to be ONE; we are all God's children.0
