Valerie King said: Please change the silhouettes back to the original format. These are awful in appearance. The colors are too bright and the style of the human figure is too ethnic. These new silhouettes totally overpower my ancestor's pictures in the pedigree charts as those pictures are in gray tones. I hope the engineer's truly do get this feedback!

Gordon Collett said: The old icons are still used on the website as seen here on the left and the new are used in the mobile app as seen on the right:

They do rather detract from the actual photographs of people. I'd vote for using a greyscale version of the new icons here:

Gordon Collett said: I must be missing something. They just look like very generic, non-specific people to me. Maybe a bit of an old fashioned hairstyle on the woman but that fits with the history part of what we are doing. I do like it better than the 1960's hairstyle on the old icon. The new one reminds of the silhouettes on the boxes PAF came in.

What exactly is that supposed to mean? Ethnic as an adjective should not be used in that way; it's vague and meaningless as a usage. What ethnic group specifically do they resemble and why might that be a bad thing?

Not to put too fine a point on it, but would it help if she were white?
