Life sketch information lost during merge process.

In my case I copied the one and pasted it in after the merge, but this is the hard way and I am why sure the uncaring merger will not go to this much effort.

See record MVV7-PCF on how I did it.

The next time I have two records to merge, I'll prepare the two records ahead of time, capture screens of the before, of the merge comparison screen, and the end results in the surviving record.

I set up a merge and put a short note in each person's life sketch.

The only option is to Replace or Reject to life sketch information. We need to have the ability to Add not replace a life sketch or reject it.

This is something that must have been overlooked when the current merge system was released to production.

FamilySearch! Please attend to this issue as soon as possible so that a Life Sketch isn't lost

By the way, there is a limit to the amount of text that any Life Sketch can contain. While a Life Sketch is supposed to be a mini-biographical sketch for the person, the capacity really needs to be increased.

'Yes', currently, your preferred approach, is the ONLY option available to us.

We should not have to do so.

We should be have the ABILITY (ie. "Option") to ALSO "Add" (or, should I say, "Append") the "Other" 'Life Sketch', if we so desire - as this post of 'Nolan' is implying; and, as 'Tom' has suggested in this post.

And, I totally agree with 'Tom', that the limit on the amount of "Text" (ie. "Characters") that the 'Life Sketch' can contain is INSUFFICIENT.
