Design Flaw: Conflicting Messages from Icons

Gordon Collett said: The banner for this man shows properly that his ordinances are all completed:
His summary card states that his ordinances are not complete, that one has a status of "Cannot Request," which implies that something is wrong with the information for the ordinance that needs to be fixed or that something else is blocking it.
Checking his record, the only problem blocking requesting the ordinance is that he does not have a spouse.
Could you please block SS on the summary card for people that have no spouse so that we don't keep checking, based on the summary card, for a non-existent problem?
It is fine to continue to show the orange icon on the ordinance page because it is very clear right there that the person has no spouse.
The landscape and descendancy pedigree charts both correctly show that his ordinances are complete.
Just the summary card gives the conflicting message as far as I have seen.

His (Johannes Olson Vatne) summary card states that his ordinances are not complete
The summary card image that you have provided is not for Johannes Olson Vatne, but rather for his mother Inga Johannesdatter Vik.
However, the incomplete Sealing to Parents (SP) marker on Inge's summary card don't seem to show up on the descendant chart either.
So the original observation seemed to be incorrectly documented, but there still seems to be an issue with the status icons anyway.0 -

Gordon Collett said: The same thing does happen with sealing to parents. If a person doesn't have parents only the summary card shows the orange icon. All other views that I've checked, the banner, descendancy view, and landscape pedigree, show her ordinances as complete. But I don't mind seeing the orange icon there as a notation that something is wrong because while not everyone has a spouse, everyone has parents even if they can't be found yet.0

Jeff Wiseman said: Ahh! Now it makes a lot of sense. Furthermore, you can see the same type of thing with a bit of a twist in his mother's record.
It used to be that when parents or a spouse did not exist in the system, the icon was left uncolored (or white depending on how you saw it). That has been "simplified" by making merging its meaning with the yellow "not enough data" color.
At least if you go to Johannes Olson Vatne's ordinance page, you see that yellow "Can't request" icon: on the page, even though it is not reflected in the Ordinances "Overview" icon. But his mom Inge's ordinances page doesn't event show the "SP not available" indicator in ANY color (although it is orange in her summary sheet.)
So yea, there are some pieces scrambled a bit and it impacts BOTH the SS and SP ordinance areas.0 -
Jeff Wiseman said: But the significant point is that they are each slightly different in their behavior.0
