Rena Alice Croft said: I would like to add audio to documents. Often I submit letters written in cursive handwriting .I would like to be able to also add audio version.Fewer & fewer people have the ability to read cursive & even less will take the time to read old letters.

I see another request for the ability to "Attach transcript to audion files" Much the same idea!!!! thanks for your time! Rena
I think letters would be enjoyed by many more people if this were possible.

Tom Huber said: In my opinion, you would be better off to transcribe the letters into text and then combine the image with the transcription and upload that to a memory. I did that with a (hand) written work from the 1930s.

Although letters will read better than the work I transcribed, the idea is the same as adding audio.

Keep in mind that combining audio with an image (or vice versa) is like producing a video. It is not as easy as it sounds. Give it a try and you'll see what I mean.

Now, not to discourage you, but it may be possible that at some future date, FamilySearch will allow an image to be attached to a video file, the same way an image can be attached to a story.

The contributor is the only person who will see the option to add audio.
