Family Search is a great resource, but there are so many incorrect family trees on it, posted by folks who do not list any way of contacting them!

I would like to be able to correct this for future references. My birthdate is october 25 1977. Please feel free to contact me if there are any questions on anything. Thank you and have a wonderful day.

Paul said: I'm very pleased you're showing an interest in this case, Ron, but am mystified as to why are you reacting to this as if it's a "one-off", when you are well aware how common this problem is.

I would add that this does not just apply to those who withhold their contact details. Another patron and I have common ancestors on Family Tree, to which a third patron keeps making changes. He has no connection with these individuals, but has ignored emails and phone calls asking him to leave their carefully researched, recorded details alone. In desperation I clicked on "Report Abuse" last week, but this produces no case number, nor have I received any advice on what, if anything, will be done in an attempt to stop this gentleman from persisting in his actions.

I hope your interest in the case raised by Drudy might show an overdue policy emerging to deal with this all too familiar problem.

I'm having some success using FindAGrave as a secondary point of light.

If you have updated the record on FamilyTree, check the FindAGrave site to see if information about the person has been entered there. Work to see that it likewise contains the good information you have entered to FamilyTree.

At least in my experience, FindAGrave is a popular information source for those who might not otherwise cull through the sources and reasoning you post to FamilyTree.

We have a DONNA C. BATEMAN posting on the MCCAMMOND family tree using only certain sources. In challenging her methods she has become somewhat belligerent. Says that if I don't like her posting on a public tree then I need to start and post on a private family tree
