Who is Charles Purbrick's father? Or what happened to him?
I am researching some family members in Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire England. The mother's name is Priscilla Purbrick and she was born around 1813 in Fulbrook, Oxfordshire. In 1836, she is listed as the mother of a child named Charles Purbrick on a Fulbrook, Oxfordshire baptism record. She was not married until 1843 in Wiltshire. I have found Charles living in 1841 in Oxfordshire with the grandmother Mary Purbrick and he was 5 years old. But after 1841 I cannot find him anywhere; I do not know if he died or if he had a different surname. He was not living with Priscilla nor Mary in 1851. I do not know who his father is, and I doubt it was the guy Priscilla married in 1843, although his name does happen to be Charles as well. (Charles Moss).
Any help or suggestions would be great. I tried looking for bastardy bonds, but I don't think they are online. Here is a link to my ancestry tree for this family: https://www.ancestry.com/family-tree/tree/154866954/family

Do you have this family in an online tree that you can point us to?

The online tree is very helpful. It looks like there are a few sources that should be checked. Part of what you need to do is see what other records are available. Don't worry that they may or may not be online. Search for items 1 & 2 in the Family History Library Catalog using the title search. A lot of problem solving research involves searches for records before you can search for the person.
- Reports on the contents of Oxfordshire parish chests made for the National Register of Archives, v. 1, A-I; v. 2, K-Y
- Oxfordshire : a genealogical bibliography by Stuart Raymond is worth tracking down
- Newspapers: The British Newspaper Archive should be a good choice https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/
- Try an 1851 census search doing using only Charles as a given name and no last name. Include the birth year with a range of +/- 5 years and born in Fulbrook.
- Search the civil registration death indexes for Charles Purbrick from 1841-1861

Darris' answer is excellent. You might also try Quarter Session records for Oxfordshire. Whether or not the father is named in any type of record like a bastardy bond, quarter session court record or even settlement certificate or removal order will depend on the mother's need for financial support for the child.
