Can I save "snapshots" of my tree?

While browsing, with no particular reason, I happens on a probable distant relative.

Opening trees and following relationships I was able to connect that persons tree down to me.

Since it is no a large addition, where I had little, I became curious about saving a copy, to a file.

Then I would like to share it.

    .

    As an aside ...

    .

    Here is another option ...

    .

    Just a thought ...

    .

Can I humbly suggest that ANOTHER place where you SHOULD be able to 'See' your "Relationship" with individuals/persons in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'; PLUS, you can ALSO "Print" the connections/links between you and them is, ... and, if you have not already ... you could try (BYU) "RelativeFinder" ...

    .

(BYU) "RelativeFinder" digs (pun intended) a lot DEEPER in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch', than 'FamilySearch' does.

    .

(BYU) "RelativeFinder" is one of the "Third Party" Applications that "Certified" to work with "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.

    .

BYU = Brigham Young University, in Provo, Utah, USA (ie. the Church University).

    .

From the "Family History Technology Laboratory", of the "Computer Science" Department.

    .

Here is direct link to "RelativeFibder"

    https://www.relativefinder.org/#/main

    .

    Relative Finder _ BYU _ v2.

"RelativeFinder" has many 'Bells and Whistles', that you might find useful.

    .

Apart from your links/connections to, "Famous People"; and, "Others" ...

    .

(BYU) "RelativeFinder" has some interesting options ...

    .

There is an option to see if there is a 'Connection' between yourself and a "Deceased" individual/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.

    .

Relative Finder _ BYU _ Connect Yourself with a Deceased.

There is an option to see if there is a 'Connection' between two (x2) "Deceased" individuals/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'

    .

Relative Finder _ BYU _ Connect Two Deceased.

There is an option to see if there is a 'Connection' between ("Living" - Users/Patrons) Friends in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.

    .

Relative Finder _ BYU _ Connect with Friends.

    Give them a go ...

    .

And, there are many other 'Bells and Whistles' that you might find useful in "RelativeFinder".

    .

    Magic.

    .

    Enjoy.

    .

    I hope this helps.

    .

    Brett

This may or may not answer your specific question

but by any means it is related - and is a topic that should be well understood by all of us

If you really wanted to do this, such as for an area you are working on that will take a lot of work, or that you can't sort it out fast there are ways to do what you want.

Basically what you are trying to do with the snapshots or 'screenshots' is to create markers that you can put somewhere on your computer to come back to. People do this with organizational behavior to have 'visuals' to remind them, 'oh I need to come back to this! Its not done'.

    So here's the instructions;

In using windows based computers there will be a function that is usually [Function key + Print Screen] used together to take a digital screen shot. When you do this you want to next go to 'windows accessories' tab, and look for a program called 'paint'.

You open paint and then click paste and it will paste what you'd done for the screen shot into it. (You can then trim the edges etc and then save it as a jpg file. Also you want to trim the edges so that other programs aren't showing in the pic. There are youtube tutorials on this.)

This is useful for creating little window clues that you can go back and work on. [For visual reminders!]

*This kind of trick would be most useful for either people who aren't used to heavy computer use, or who are showing this area to someone with no computer use. This kind of snapshot view taking would be especially useful for having something you can use to show a non-computer user, or elderly relative, with which you could ask them questions about such people. (And that could lead to more work or clues to do more family history!)

when you said "snap shots" - did you specifically mean - static screen images

or did you mean just data file / report file of a specific subset of people in FamilySearch,
