If a Child died at we'll say a few hours old and was not given a first name should I just leave the first name section blank? In the case in question i do know the sex of the child. Thanks Ray.

    .

On top of what 'Cindy' has already proffered ...

    .

Short Answer: 'Yes', leave the "First Names" field "Blank", for an "Unnamed" Child.

    .

    But ...

    That said ...

    .

Just to ensure that NO Other User/Patron, without the background knowledge of the circumstances, decides to "Add" some, name; or, form of name (and, they sometimes do) ...

    .

Can I humbly suggest that you add copious "Notes", EVERYWHERE you can, to the circumstances [ ie. Died a few Hours after Birth; and, was not/never "Named" (ie. 'Given'/'Christian' Name) ].

    .

The SAME "Note" can be added in ALL the following:

    .

    "Name" field

    ▬ Reason Statement

    .

    PLUS:

    ▬ Life Sketch;

    ▬ Other Information

    ▬ ▬ Facts

    ▬ ▬ ▬ Custom Fact; and,

    ▬ Collaboration, both,

    ▬ ▬ Notes; and,

    ▬ ▬ Discussions

........ [ "Discussions" currently CANNOT be "Deleted"/"Removed" by others ]

    .

    It may seem OVERKILL ...

    .

    But ...

    That said ...

    .

That way, you 'cover all the bases' ...

And, NO User/Patron can say that they "Missed that" ...

[ Unfortunately, some will; but, you cannot make it 'foolproof' ]

    .

    Plus ...

    .

You certainly DO NOT enter any 'Title' (ie. "Miss" or "Master") ...

    for the "Unnamed" Child.

    .

    I hope this helps.

    .

    Brett

    .

ps: I have done the aforementioned for a number of "Unnamed" Infants/Children in my "Ancestral" lines.
