Correcting parents on a Read Only Profile https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/K19C-V6Z

Based on all of the sources, and everything on the internet, Julia Dent Grant and her siblings are attached to the wrong set of parents. The profile is set as read only, what do I do?

Click on the "?" And create a case providing your Julia Dent Grant's FS ID number and the source information. They can forward the information to the department that can make the changes in read only.

Don't be put off if your first response doesn't help you. Some times in cases like this I had to be persistent to get the information forwarded to the right area.

Here is a helpful document about this.

Where is the "?" you are talking about?

The new help center icon is a "?"

The helps change, depending on the page you are on. Creating a case has move to the bottom Contact Us, and then scroll down to create a case.

    Good luck

Thanks, I have been through the process before, but, it was due to harassment by another member....

    .

    FYI

    .

    "Julia Dent GRANT" ( K19C-V6Z ) is NOT a "Ready Only" individual/person.

    .

But, as her CURRENTLY associated Father, "Frederick Dent GRANT" ( L693-D6M ) IS a "Ready Only" individual/person; as, he is a Child of a Famous (American) individual/person.

    .

Therefore, the "Parent-Child" Relationship, between, her; and, her CURRENTLY associated Father, IS (therefore) a "Ready Only" Relationship (all-be-it, a "Parent-Child" Relationship).

    .

    Hence, your predicament.

    .

As has already been proffered and discussed, the submission of a "Support" Case is the ONLY way to go.

    .

Here a "Knowledge Articles" in 'FamilySearch':

What are read-only records in Family Tree?

    https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/what-are-read-only-records-in-family-tree

    .

    Where is states:

    Quote

    ------------------

Read-only records show a gold banner and allow no additions or changes. In addition, for read-only records, the Discussions and Latest Changes features are unavailable. These records often have a notification that the record is confidential.

    .

FamilySearch is a unique genealogical experience. It has a single tree of individuals linked together in families. We rely on a large amount of collaboration to form a single tree instead of individual private trees. Our focus is to connect the entire human family. When we mark records as "read only," it prevents collaboration. Consequently, we do not accept patron requests to mark a record as read only.

Reporting an error in a read-only record

    .

If you find an error in a read-only record, please contact FamilySearch Support. Due to the specialized work required to resolve this type of issue, you will receive the fastest response if you submit your request using our online form. In your message, provide the following information:

    ▬ Category: Family Tree

    ▬ Subject: Read only

    ▬ Message:

    • Your FamilySearch username and helper number. This information is in your FamilySearch Account settings.
    • Your relationship to the individual needing attention.
    • The case number. If you previously contacted us about this problem, the case number helps us find the information you have already provided to us.
    • Information to help us find the person whose record is in question. Include the person’s name, birth date, and ID number. Also include the ID number and birth date of any other individuals involved.
    • An explanation of what is wrong.
    • Correct data. Explain how the data should read and why we should change it.
    • Supporting documentation. Documentation is helpful and very often necessary.

    I hope this helps, further.
