Kris, i did look and i have been to this cemetery many times in Leon Co., Tubb cemetery and there is no stone to indicate he is buried there also the person who posted this I wonder what documentation he has because all the times I spend at courthouse in leon Co., that is a gray area of Texas death certificates and i do not think unless has been made since my search ended is one on the John Mccaskill I search for, now he has a son, John or johnny born in June 1855 in Pike Co., Alabama and has no death date either, but shows in 1860-1870-&1880 census...but will contact person who posted in find a grave, which is not always 100% documented, but do appreciate looking, Lillian

@LILLIAN BEASLEY I see what you mean on this family. People have mixed up the John Sr and John JR. It looks to me that you have great documentation on this family. You said that you have spent time in the Leon County Courthouse, I assume that you checked land records, checked to see if there was a probate record, tax records. I really appreciate that you have been to the cemetery and are going to request the documentation on how they know that is your ancestor. Keep up the good work, you are an asset to the genealogical field.

Consider https://www.futurelearn.com/courses/genealogy = it is a free genealogy course from University of Strathclyde Glasgow (Scotland). You may gain connections ...

You should always go to txgenweb.org in Texas. Found this listing for Tubb Cemetery

    http://txgenwebcounties.org/leon/cemeteries/su/tubb.htm

That findagrave.com listing was probably taken from there. Never trust a findagrave.com listing without a headstone photo or documentation.

Have you been to the Leon County Genealogical Society building in Centerville?

There are also two listings for the McCaskill family in the 1986 Leon County History book.
