Of course the death certificate of someone so recently deceased is not on FamilySearch. The certificate would be located in the Office of Vital Statistics for the City of Columbus. I believe they use vitalChek for online requests.

Current death records for Franklin County Ohio are located at the Franklin County office of vital statistics. Columbus Public Health. 240 Parsons Ave. Columbus Ohio 43215

applications can be submitted by phone mail or on line. The web site is

colombus.gov

If you know the mortuary, they usually post ​the obituary on their website. Just a side note.

Newspapers.com is a good site to use for the obituary and other activities your mother may have participated in.

I've recently ordered several birth and death certificates from Ohio. I live here and no one is doing in person. The easiest​ way to order your mom's death certificate from Franklin county Ohio is through vitalrecordsonline.com

Sorry for the long link. Right now they aren't doing in person requests. You can only order online or through the mail . You can get the address from the county clerk web site. Vital records online is the easiest way but it does cost more. Franklin county costs more actually. When you go to the site you will click on Ohio then type in the city she died in. Just follow the prompts. It's not too hard. When you get to the shipping page be sure to click the top where it says ups or FedEx (something like that). You will want it shipped free through the postal service. They are listed in a drop down. Good luck.
