    .

    Short Answer: 'No'.

    .

NOT according to the current "Knowledge Article" in 'FamilySearch':

    .

How do I create a free FamilySearch account?

    Published: 20 April 2020

[ Really, the update (ie. 'revamp') of the "Help" facility, rather than the article ]

    https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-create-a-free-familysearch-account

    .

    Where it states:

    Quote

    ------------------

Age limits — You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Children ages 8 to 12 can create an account with parental permission.

    ------------------

    .

    NOTHING has changed.

    .

    I hope this helps.

ps: Stay tuned, you never know, "Knowledge Articles" in 'FamilySearch' are notoriously behind the times (ie. 'Out of Date' to actual changes) ...
