When I add a document to memories, when I put a name in the "Who is in this memory?" field, it will only allow me to add some people. I am using the correct name in Family Search. There seems to be no particular reason some are allowed and some not.

    thats a good idea

but its not usually a matter of mispelling a name - its a matter of the fact that when you type in a name and hit enter - and it generates a "pick list" to choose from - that picklist is NOT a complete list of matching names in FS - rather it is a small subset - based on names you have already worked with.

there is an additional step that even when the picklist doesnt have the exact match - you can still go out and find it and select it as the match. (see prior response on this thread where I show screen shots)

I'm going to refer you to the group: @FamilySearch Tips and Tricks. You also could post the question in FamilySearch "Feedback" which you can find at the bottom of your FamilySearch home page.

You should be able to add anyone - but it is true that only certain people (especially those you have worked with recently - show up on a default "pick list") but even if they dont show up on the "pick list" you can still add them - it just takes an extra step to find them in FS.

@David Mark LaBau My recent experience with this feature is if I haven't tagged that ancestor in a memory yet, it is easier to tag them in that section (who is in this memory) when I input their FS ID. Have you tried that yet?

Try entering the PID (Personal ID number). That usually works well for me. It is easy to mispell the name when typing or even to not match it exactly. Hope that helps.

Yah, just try using the PID in both the "Who is in this memory?" field and also the next field that pops up. There seems to be a bit of a delay for the second field, at least for me.
