Hi all. I'm new so forgive my ignorance! I found an ancestor (William Lloyd Evans GWD2-RYT) and FamilySearch says he immigrated in 1882. How do they know/how do I find that record? I searched at Ellis island website and couldn't find him. Thanks!

Carolyn, The information for the immigration year came from the 1900 and 1910 census records. You may want to check out immigration records for Pennsylvania, It appears he was in Pennsylvania prior to going to New York. Hope this helps answer your question.

Thanks, Carol! I can't find him in the PA immigration records but I'll keep looking. :-)
