    Are you referring to a "Local" census (eg. "Tax" Assessment, whatever)?

    .

    National Census' in the "United Kingdom" commenced in 1801; but, for the 1801, 1810, 1821 and 1831, Census', the details collected were mainly head-counts, with few records still existing.
