The persons that I'm interested in are a George Carroll LVLL-4RS and his wife Eleanor Scott (B:1780 D:1821) LVLL-HCX they lived at a place called Stone Hall Estates which was somewhere around the town of Ballina . Their marriage resulted in the birth of my 2nd Great Grandmother Ann Carroll LVNQ-9RK in 1814 in her obits in January 1916 @ 101 years old it states she was born @ Stone Hall she had a sister born in 1818 and her name was Margaret M84V-86D.This family is strange because Eleanor LVLL-HCX had a brother by the name of Luke Scott L2M9-CM4 and he had a son by the name of Robert Scott 1804-1893 (LJ2M-2JJ) making Robert and Ann cousins WELL THEY MARRIED and had 10 children. Luke brought his family over to Quebec Canada in the 1820's I haven't been able to find the docs on the exact time as they were UK citizens and didn't need docs. Luke and Mary Baird his wife had 6 children Matthew, John, Robert, Ellen (now she from birth was crippled & had to be looked after so went to different brothers & sisters) then Ann, & lastly Jane was born, so it was easy to get all 6 children of Luke & Mary. All six of their children were born in Ireland, 1801 when Luke and Mary married in Killala to 1819 with the birth of Jane. They came to a small town called LaChute in Argenteuil County Quebec Canada. The 1831 census has Luke Scott there with 10 other people in the household. The children of Luke & Mary started to marry in the 1830's and I have traced their marriages & children . They grey area is the time in Ireland in Killala & Ballina 1801to 1819. It was stated by Luke's youngest daughter Jane that he was a soldier & I've found a number of military persons with the name Luke Scott 1806 is one of them and he is in a hospital for soldiers. There are 7 of us that are looking for ANY INFO on the SCOTT'S , BAIRD'S and CARROLL'S in the area around Ballina . From our conversations these three families didn't stick around that area for long they left and we don't know how we are related but we think we have to be as Ballina at that time couldn't have a very big population. So, if anyone know anything about these surnames we sure would like to talk with you.
