A newspaper article about my HUEG family published in Moringen newspaper
I was contacted several weeks ago by a German newspaper, in the town of Moringen, where my HUEG family was from. I supplied them with my USA Hueg family information, stories, and photos, I had of their life up to 1907 when they emmigrated to USA. The article was published June 15. It was very exciting to see it published. I had to use Google translate to read it. But even better, it made me write down all the little snip-its of stories my grandmother told of her time in the town. Some stories may be only 1 or 2 sentences. But now they can still be passed down, along with the photos toour future generations. I developed new contacts in the town by looking at their town history museums on Facebook and Wiki. I have 22 yards of linen, woven by my GGGM over 125 years ago, that I am donating to the museum. It was a town of Mills with a long family history of 150 years of mill ownership, by my HUEG family

How interesting. I was able to go to HNA and read the story online at this link: https://www.hna.de/lokales/northeim/altes-leinen-fuers-moringer-museum-90003854.html

Hi Lara The homepage of Wilfied Hartje has over 19000 surnames with B-M-D data from local church records of the area in and around Moringen. He shares this for free. And the page has a number of old postcards showing the town. But even those that don't have ancestors from this small area, it does show a typical town in that part of Hannover Germany as well as historical events like the 1850 cholera ependemic. http://weperhase.bplaced.net/?Willkommen
