The simple answer to people researching Welsh families before 1800 is that it can't be done due to poor survival of parish registers. It will be more difficult but there are sources to make pre-1800 research in Wales possible and productive. Some recent cataloging improvements were made by the National Archives in England for a set of court records with some Welsh connections that cover the dates 1410-1815. It is just an example of the records available at archives in the UK. https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C14195
