Hi! I hope you and your family are well.

I'm looking for my grandfather's birth certificate, and I believe it could be in one of the microfilms you have. He was born in Brasil, in 1904.

I understand that due to the COVID-19 situation, everything is closed at the moment. How would I go about requesting a copy of these either online, or when the lockdown in over? I live in Cardiff, UK.

Thank you so much for your help.

Have a lovely day.

Daniela.

I'm not sure what the official advise would be, but I'd venture that you should ask that question to your nearest Family History Centre or FamilySearch Affiliate Library: https://www.familysearch.org/help/fhcenters/locations/

    .

Have you searched "FamilySearch" to see if you can locate any such Film?

    .

If not, you might want to try; and, if possible, provide the Film number; then, we could possibly advise about the situation with regard to that particular Film.

    .

Some Films can be accessed and viewed 'On-Line' at home; whereas, some Films are "Restricted" and can only be accessed and viewed at a "Family History Centre" of the Church (or, Affiliate Library). But, there are some Films that are very "Restricted" and cannot be even accessed or viewed at a "Family History Centre" of the Church (or, Affiliate Library).

    .

As you indicated, the many "Family History Centres" of the Church around the World are currently "Closed" due to the "COVID-19" Pandemic.

    .

Hopefully, when "Lock Downs" are lifted, in the various jurisdictions, around the World, the many "Family History Centres" of the Church will start/be open again.

    .

    I just had a look.
