Correct an Incorrect Merge of 2 completely different people
An incorrect merge has taken place on 7 Sept of this year. The correct person who should be in the tree is LRZ8-K8C, Maretta Mary Addie Turner. But someone by the name of Keith made this error, and now Stella King is listed as a child and not the correct Turner child. Can this be corrected?
See included clip of the Merge. Thanks so much, Arleen Craig Ellis

Here is another clip of the family in question. I really don't want to detach Stella King K2WH-Q8K. If I detach her, the correct person will disappear from the family. Please refer back up to the original question, where the Merge is shown. "Undo Merge" has been disabled because, the person who performed the Merge continued to added sources to this person. Thanks so much. Arleen Craig Ellis

Have restored LRZ8-K8C Maretta Mary Addie Turner who was married to Charles William "Charley" Dietzel in 1922
From Stella King K2WH-Q8K appears to who was married to Charles William "Charley" Dietzel in 1904
Also attached some additional family to Stella King Livingston Dietzel Hand with sources and merges to hopefully help reduce any future confusion between them and added a collaboration note
Still open issue is the memories of Mary Addie Turner are still attached to both people

To answer your question, you can always separate two profiles that have been incorrectly merged and I wish the programmers would make this more clear.
Here is what I see this morning when going to an old, correct merge and clicking View Merge. This is apparently a new version of the page and is comparable to what you posted above:
If the very last action on the profiles was the merge, then the Undo Merge button will be active and you can just click it. If you click on the more information icon in the top right corner you can read:
This box is missing an extremely important third paragraph:
If the merge was incorrect and the "duplicate person" profile needs to be restored, click on the name in the profile to go to that profile and use Restore Person.
Undo Merge returns both profiles to exactly the state they were in prior to the merge.
Restore Person returns the deleted profile to exactly the state it was in prior to the merge but does nothing to the surviving profile. When restoring a profile it is always extremely important to then carefully review the surviving profile and remove any and all information, sources, and relationships that the merge incorrectly placed in it.
I really wish the programmers would add a Restore Duplicate Person button to that Merge View screen which could be clicked right there. If they ever do, I hope they include an intermediate pop up warning of the need to review and correct the surviving profile. I think I'll go submit a suggestion about this again since they are apparently working on revising the View Merge Screen.
Unfortunately you missed the opportunity to learn how to do this by working through it yourself, but don't worry, you will run across this problem again and have the chance to have some hands on learning.

Here are the screen shots I just submitted with a suggestion. They show what I think could be a helpful improvement:
I really wish we could still have a section here for suggestions where they can be discussed, refined, voted up or down, and really give the developers an idea of what a larger group of users would like to see than just the single users's idea submission.

@Gordon Collett completely agree with your last paragraph.
I know the 'new' Suggest an Idea drives a proper defined process within FS, but until I see or hear of suggested Ideas being implemented through this process, or even of a poster being consulted on the details, I shall continue to be sceptical. Certainly everything I have posted has disappeared without trace (maybe they are all nonsense, or don't fit in to the architecture, or are too expensive to implement, but it wouldn't be hard to tell me so).
I discovered by chance recently that an Idea I submitted re results column sorting would be infeasible given the data storage architecture. If I'd known that before, I'd have stopped suggesting others submit Ideas on the subject.
It is clear that the corresponding Records Issues form /is/ working, because we can see the results here on Community.

Yes, it would be nice to have a button visible to "restore a duplicate person". Thank you for your help and actions in this matter. Arleen
