1100 BC connections

So, I'm reviewing my family tree for my dad. His mom's line looks like nearly half of it is made up. Look here: GS5H-MGB and follow this 'Reynolds' relative on the paternal line back as far as you can go and there are entries back to 1000 BC and most have no sources.

What is this and why is it attached if there are literally no sources for several generations of people?

Family Tree claims GS5H-MGB is my 24th great-grandfather, too.... (though via PDFM-5N9, who has a big alert on her saying 'not a real person').

Unfortunately many contributors to Family Tree seem totally uninterested in verifiability, and the Tree is not policed in any way, so this sort of thing is widespread.
