How can I request to correct a prevalent transcription error
Many members of my family were born in Pahuatlan, Puebla, Mexico and baptized as babies in the local catholic church, Parroquia de Santiabo.
FamilySearch is confusing the name of the Church with the place where they were born/baptized. For example, the baptism record belongs to the "Parroquia de Santiago", in the city of Pahuatlan in the state of Puebla, Mexico.
FamilySearch is incorrectly assigning the Baptism place as Santiago, Pahuatlan, Puebla. Because this place does not exist FamilySearch tries to find a standardized city name and it changes it to "Santiago de Teopantlan, Puebla, Mexico". Totally wrong location.
It used to be that I could edit the information in the source where the scan documents are kept but is not possible anymore. Check for example the a document that mentions the daughter of MB5W-VF3, Ladislao Guzman. The daughter's name is Maria Elena Guzman. And the attachment is the baptism record. There are many examples like this in my family tree. It is an annoying problem. And by not letting me correct it in the "source documents" it is definitely becoming misleading information.
Thanks for your attention to this matter,
David Lechuga

Your screenshot shows that the error you are seeing is not a "transcription error." The place was originally indexed correctly as Santiago, Pauatlán de Valle, Puebla, México. You can tell by the Event Place (Original) label.
The issue is a place name standardization problem that arose in the migration of records to a new platform. Engineers are aware and have been working to repair the problem for quite some time. It's a bigger project than most of us can fathom.
