Hi all! I'm doing my grad thesis on how genealogy sites (Ancestry, FamilySearch, MyHeritage) show AI-generated hints/suggestions to users, and I'm looking for a few people to chat with about their experience, written, totally anonymous in my write-up.

If you use any of these sites and have opinions (good or bad!) about the AI hint features, I'd love to hear from you. Comment or DM me if you're up for it 🙂

    Hello @Astrid9820,

It would be helpful (at least to me and perhaps others) if you could provide more information as to what your thesis topic is — thank you.

@Astrid9820 Mod note: Your research sounds very interesting, and I wish you the best with it. However, the community may not be the best place to seek answers to these particular questions. Thank you so much for your understanding.

I've been off Ancestry for about a year now, but I have… um… opinions… about how their hinting system enshrines mistakes and speculation, or how their site design and business model is an existential threat to genealogical accuracy. I'd be happy to share them, but I'm swamped with other obligations for the next week or so. But hit me up if it's that's not too late.
