I would appreciate help translating Act # 14 for Agnes Stachowiak, who died on 9 February 1887. I want to learn as much as possible about the details to help me correctly identify her.

Thank you,

Dwight

    @ Dwight Scott

    - you should really post this to the "Poland Research" group for a proper translation. The record is written in Latin and I can translate most of it as follows - happy for any and all corrections

Record 14 - 1887, February - Died on the 9th - This section is for the hour of death but appears to be used for something else, but I'm unsure as to what - Buried in the cemetery - at Rostczyn - Name: Agnes Stachowiak, maiden name unknown - age 90 - Beggar - Parents unknown - female, legitimate - died of old age - Daughter Franciszka Borkowska, widow (next line appear to say she is engaged to be married to Jan Rulik?) - 1 child survives, Franciszka age 55, unsure of word underneath.

    Hope that helps.

@Dwight Scott Here is the link to Poland Research Group: Poland Research — FamilySearch Community

Also to support what @Ted275 wrote, I used Copilot on my computer, and this was the translation. Latin to English translation:

Here’s the full translation of Line 14 from the 1887 death register regarding Agnestis (Agnes) Stachowiak, based on the handwritten Latin text visible in your image:

    ⚰️ Record No. 14 — February 9, 1887

Latin transcription (as written): Die 9 Februarii, sepulta in coemeterio Rostczynensi. Agnes Stachowiak mendica, annorum 90, sexus foeminei, legitima, causa mortis senectus. Filiam superstitem Francisca Borkowska vidua, annorum 55.

    🇬🇧 English translation:

Date of death: February 9, 1887Burial: In the cemetery of RostczynName: Agnes StachowiakStatus: BeggarAge: 90 yearsSex: FemaleLegitimacy: LegitimateCause of death: Old ageSurviving child: Franciszka Borkowska, widow, age 55

    Context notes

    • “Mendica” means beggar — a common term used for impoverished parishioners.
    • “Senectus” literally means old age, indicating natural death.
    • “Legitima” confirms she was born in lawful wedlock.
    • The surviving daughter, Franciszka Borkowska, is noted as a widow, suggesting she lived nearby and was known to the priest.
    • The burial took place in Rostczyn cemetery, consistent with other entries on the page.
