French Records
Is there a way to easily access French civil records from the 1800's and earlier?
Everything I come across had no record or image available, and I can only find the indexes of records, not the records themselves. I know France has one of the worst online genealogy systems in the world, and seem intent on never fixing it, but I hoping I won't have to pay to access them through some third party site.
It seems my only options is either to pay a site, try to navigate online the trainwreck of the French online genealogy system, or go to a FS location to have them use their membership access to find them for me, but I am hoping there is another way to access them without having to go down those paths.

Since acquiring Filae, MyHeritage has a strong collection of French vital records. Many public libraries offer access to MyHeritage on-site. MyHeritage can also be accessed at any FamilySearch Center.
