Feedback on FamilySearch catalog search results
I was adding a location to a record and saw in the catalog that the town Belvédère was a place within Alpes-Maritimes, France. However, the search would not find the location without the diacritics. Not nice!

The place search appears to require an exact match on the accented spelling of the place name. As a result, searching for "Belvedere" does not return "Belvédère," which can make place standardization more difficult for users who do not enter diacritics. This may indicate that the search is not currently handling diacritic-insensitive matching for this location.

Worked OK for me, although I did need to put 'alpes' in as well to get the correct location to show up in the visible part of the list:
The order locations pop up in is pretty bonkers. The more detail you can give it the better. But my experience is that diacritics do not need to be specified in location searching.
