I am looking for the birth record of Melidi Olga, born on May 20, 1908, in the Kars Regi
I kindly ask for your help in finding the birth record of my great‑grandmother, Melidi Olga Panayotovna. The available documents state: date of birth — 20.05.1908, Karskaya Oblast, village of Kamyshi (her brother’s documents mention the village of Kamishvi), but we cannot find out what the village was called exactly now, nor which church parish was there, in order to find the birth record. Please help — any information is important for our family.

When doing a quick search the area appears to have been annexed into Russia from the Ottoman empire and formerly part of Turkey. However, after some more research. The name of village literally means "reeds/rushes" and could be tied to other villages throughout the Russian Empire, so go through what you know. What stories you have heard and if you know what country borders the villages were close to. This will help narrow down your search.
