Youssoufian / Youssefian — Constantinople ➔ Egypt ➔ Rio de Janeiro (Brazil)
Hello everyone,I am looking for information or relatives connected to the Youssoufian (or Youssefian) family branch that emigrated from Constantinople to Egypt, and then to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.Here is what I know from our family letters:
My grandfather: Stepan Youssoufian (born 1901 in Constantinople, died 1986 in France).
His uncle: Pierre Youssoufian, who fled Turkey between 1915 and 1920, stayed in Egypt, and later moved to Brazil after 1950.
- Pierre's children (who were living in Rio de Janeiro in the late 1960s):Hovannès Youssoufian (also went by Jean)Pauline YoussoufianAchkène Youssoufian

@jean-claudeFAVEREAU You might try using the social groups for your research. I would try the Arab Ancestry group if it applies. or maybe on the Brazil side, try the Latin American group.

I don't know much about Armenians, but I am aware that the surname ending ..ian is very common for those of Armenian background.

Another website which may be of interest is the website Salt Research https://archives.saltresearch.org . Salt is a cultural institution in Istanbul Turkey which includes a specialised library.
The website contains, in addition to other categories, a number of online editions of the publication Annuaire Oriental du Commerce and other publications classified as Yearbooks, mainly French language, from 1868- 1948, which are Searchable. (Download appears to be only possible by the page).
There are some Year books of this type in the Internet Archive (Archive.org) which may be of interest, but there are some problems with Archive.org right now (overloaded servers) so I will have another look later.
