How to find more about my father
Hi new to this I'm trying to find out more about my Father he was born in Ireland Cork as I know, in 1914 as I believe moved to UK in 1930 served in the navy during WW2 that's as much as i know. Thanks Brian

Irish birth records for that period are available, online, free, on the Irish government-sponsored website https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/The record will have the names of his parents.

Tell me how new you are to FamilySearch. You must have an account to post in the community. So here is a possibility for you to try that is at the very beginner level. You don't even need to sign into FamilySearch; in fact, to use this feature, don't even sign in. If you go to the Home page for FamilySearch, you will find this:
Fill in your Father's information in the form. You don't have to know a lot, but the more you know, the better the outcome. When you click Search, it opens to a page that shows names that match your Father's. You can search through those and determine if any of them are your Father. You will find some search options: All, Historical Records, Family Tree Profiles, Memories, and Last Name Information. Play with these tabs to discover any information about your ancestor. Sometimes the options will require you to sign in. This will help you determine what FamilySearch knows about your father. This is a fun way to look for an ancestor. But to search deeper, you will eventually have to sign in and go to work finding information that will tell you more about your father. You can also visit a local FamilySearch Center to help you get started. To find a nearby FamilySearch center, you can use the FamilySearch Center Locator on the website. Simply enter your location in the search box or click the locator icon to find the nearest centers. The map will display green icons for FamilySearch centers and red for affiliate libraries. You can also use the Family Tree app: on iOS, tap 'More' and then 'Help' to find a center; on Android, tap the 3-line icon, then 'Help' and 'Find a FamilySearch Center'. Allow location access if prompted.
