'something went wrong' but page is not blank
Ok, I discovered this quite by accident. If you get the 'something went wrong' error, but the page did not go blank, you can click 'cancel', then back up till you reach the point where you can select 'unsure' and choose that option. This will get you past the error point without needing to reload the pages. I figure for people with slower page load times, this will be really nice!

ok, update, it doesn't ALWAYS work. I went back on one later on, and it wouldn't allow me to take any of the review steps.

@dancingintherain, Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the purposes of Get Involved activities QNR (Quick Name Review) and FNR (Full Name Review) are only to humanly review what AI has read from the document to verify AI spelling and interpretation of the highlighted name(s).
The "Unsure" button should only be used to 1) indicate the human reviewer cannot read/see the highlighted name well enough because of poor document quality ie "faint" or blurry letters or 2) to indicate the cursive penmanship on the original appears to be illegible or a scribble.
I think the idea behind these activities is to make a decision of "Yes"/"No", then take steps to correct AI's reading/spelling if needed or I can click "Unsure" when I want to let another reviewer take a stab at it because I am moving on to the next highlighted name(s)
If I am correct in my understanding, then the Get Involved team needs to "fix" the instructions so everyone ages 8-100 can participate and enjoy getting involved with family search and family history 😎
P.S. I'm leaving Get Involved and Moving On to my personal family history and "helping" my family and friends by introducing them to Family History/genealogy using FamilySearch Opportunities - I don't "do" computer tech or engineering — 😎🤩

Surely the basic objective of the Indexing part of Get Involved is fundamentally no different from that of the old manual Indexing/Review activity: to put the accurate metadata in place that will enable family history researchers to find records easily. (Clearly Get Involved can also help tune Computer Aided Indexing's underlying AI models, but that has to be secondary.)
I would have thought it was important for those just starting with family history to work on their tree and its sources, thereby learning by experience what effective indexing looks like, before they start 'Getting Involved' in the indexing of images. I'm therefore honestly unsure that this is work for 8-year-olds, except maybe the initial Quick Name Review (even for that they'd need to learn to read cursive).

More information on this that I just ran into. If the record brings you back to the same name that crashed it earlier, don't just skip it, give it a try. I did, and it worked on the second time the record showed it to me.
